Terms of Use

Scope of the service

Akar is an app for landlords and tenants that tracks properties, leases, rent collection, rent increase periods, expenses and documents. By using Akar, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Akar does not act as an intermediary for payments. Rent is paid by the tenant directly into the landlord's account; Akar only keeps a record of these payments.

For information only, not professional advice

The legal rent increase cap calculations (CPI (TÜFE) average and so on), rent increase notices, legal calendar, tax return summaries and reminders shown by Akar are for information only. They do not replace legal, financial or tax advice. For official matters, you should consult a professional (a lawyer or an accountant). Akar cannot be held responsible for consequences arising from differences in how up to date the calculations are or in how they are interpreted.

Information that the AI reads from documents is a suggestion and may be wrong. It is your responsibility to check it before it is recorded.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter (rent amount, lease dates, payment records).
  • When you invite a tenant, spouse, partner or manager, you decide the scope of the data you share.
  • When you enter personal data belonging to others, you must have a legal basis for doing so.
  • You may not use Akar for unlawful purposes.

Akar Pro

  • One property and one tenancy are free for good. Anything beyond that requires Akar Pro.
  • Akar Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as one-time lifetime access. Current prices are shown in the app before purchase.
  • Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • A free trial may be offered on the yearly plan; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid period begins.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play settings. Refunds are subject to the policies of the store concerned.
  • There are no paid features on the tenant side.

Account and termination

You can delete your account from within the app at any time; details are on the account deletion page. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription; cancel the subscription separately in your store settings. We reserve the right to suspend the service if these terms are breached.

Changes

These terms may be updated; significant changes will be announced within the app.
